Description

The Environmental Sampling & Monitoring Primer is an ongoing project by students in the Civil Engineering Department at Virginia Tech. Each term, students in one or more classes are required to write a web page on a topic of their choice dealing with some aspect of the class. These pages are collected and incorporated into the Primer. This is a long term project. Further topics will be added each time the class is taught. The overall goal is a student-authored document that can serve as a resource to other students and the general public.

Currently, two other primers are available, the first on Water Treatment at:

http://www.ce.vt.edu/enviro2/wtprimer/wtprimer.html

and the second on Groundwater Pollution at
http://www.ce.vt.edu/enviro2/gwprimer/gwprimer.html

Requirements

The Primer contains a wide variety of photos, drawings, video, animations, and sound clips. The multimedia components were developed on a wide variety of systems. All have been tested successfully on a Windows 95 PC running Netscape 3.0 Gold with Quicktime plug-in. The material should be accessible from other systems and browsers, although you may need the appropriate plug-in. It is best viewed in 800x600 or higher video resolution.
