Dr. Randy Dymond has been selected as the 2009 G.V. Loganathan Faculty Achievement Award recipient. This award, presented by the Virginia Tech chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is voted upon each spring purely by students currently enrolled in the Via Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

“Randy's work with our students has been exemplary,” said Bill Knocke, CEE Department Head. “In addition to being a very effective teacher in the classroom he has worked tirelessly to develop the Land Development Design Initiative (LDDI) and many students appreciate the new educational offerings that have come forward from within LDDI.”

In addition to his work with LDDI, Dymond is the founding director of Virginia Tech’s Center for Geospatial Information Technology (CGIT) and serves as co-faculty advisor for the ASCE student chapter.
